Gordon

Hurricane Gordon was the most intense storm of the season, reaching Category 3, but spending most of his fury in the middle of the Atlantic.  Interestingly, Father Keith Milligan, VFCC Board Chair, went with his wife, Jennie, to Ireland for a two-week delayed honeymoon around this time.  They had been scheduled to honeymoon in New Orleans on the last week of August 2005, a time when New Orleanians were otherwise occupied.  While staying at a coastal Irish town, a storm came up through the English Channel to tear up some trees in the nearby forest - the sub-tropical remains of Hurricane Gordon following them there!!
